Enviromex® & Ecomex® range of Environmental films

The Enviromex® & Ecomex® range of films put our fragile earth first. The Enviromex® range of PET, APET, GAG and RPET Films are 100% recyclable as they are constructed of the same polymer PET chip resin as a coke or water bottle.

The Enviromex® PW12R is made of over 20% post consumer waste and is 100% recyclable.

The Ecomex® range of clear cast cellulose acetate films are made from wood-pulp, and therefore are 100% biodegradeable and home compostable.

The Ecomex® range of clear cast cellulose acetate films are made from processed wood pulp. The pulp is processed using acetic anhydride to form acetate flake from which products are made. Coming from wood pulp, means that unlike most man-made fibres, it comes from a renewable resource and is biodegradable.

The Ecomex® range of clear PLA films are made from corn starch, and therefore are 100% biodegradeable and home compostable

The Ecomex® range of clear PLA films compost at around 55 degree C in a home made composter. It is indicated that a complete composting of PLA is in around 6 weeks with minimal residues remaining.

Some other 'green' terminology is outlined below, as there are many different definitions of green materials!

Biodegradability
The metabolic conversion of material into CO2
and H2O by naturally occurring micro-organisms

Disintegrability
Mechanical fragmentation & loss of material
visibility in the final compost.

Compostability
Both of the above must occur along with
- Absence of negative effect on compost process
- Absence of toxicological effect on the compost

Annually Renewably
Produced from a source of materials that can be
renewed on a yearly basis, thus saving fossil
resources.
